Lord Nelson Three Sheets Pale Ale

This Sydney brewer has brought a real classy pale ale to the market. The malt and hop combination is true to the craft brewers small batch spirit with true flavour and armour. The citrus nose is fruity and inviting and the hoppy finish is as you expect from australian beers of quality and proves that hops alone can make the flavour of a great pale ale. I loved the high head on the pour which allows crisp flavour and nose. This will figure prominently in my fridge during summer this year. score 9.5 out of 10.

The Duck's Australian Pale Ale

Matilda Bay has introduced an Australian Pale Ale to its range but I have one question, why? This beer is terrible! It tastes like the other slop offered by Carlton United Brewing at the pub. Drink this only if it's free and you are extremely desperate. There are plenty of beers offered by Australian Brewers that have flavour and substance. As a reviewer I try to present fine Australian and New Zealand beer for readers, but this has actually damaged the image of fine brewers everywhere. This is a shocker from a brewer I have accustomed to far better beer. Score 3 out of 10.

Break Water Australian Pale Ale

I was expecting great things from this beer by Gage Road Brewing but was sorely dissipointed. The taste is pleasant but underwhelming in hops and citrus notes that are without conviction and make no statement other than I am OK. Score 6 out of 10.

Doss Bollocks Pale Lager

The East Ninth Brewing Co. From Melbourne Victoria bring this classic pale ale with a nice malty pale with a sweet citrus finish from the combined Cascade hops. At 4.6% it is a smooth beer that keeps a premium of taste through traditional brewing methods. Highly recommend this one, score 9.5 out of 10.

Williams Organic Pale Ale

Nice pale ale with s light hoppy finish. Clear on the pallet with a slight fruitiness to round out the crisp finish. I enjoyed this pale as it was perfect with a meal due to its light white head and crisp flavours. A low bitterness complements the fruity citrus hops and sweet aromour from the australian malts.. Great beer for the coming warmer weather. Score 8.6 out of 10.

Welcome to quality! A classic Belgian triple style ale. High in alcahol at 9.5% with the unmistakable quality of Belgian Hops that has a character that is built on spice and clove notes with a smooth finish that I often describe as sheer class. The aromour is pure bliss but the best thing I can say about this beer is to buy as many as you can afford because once you aquire a taste for this one you will just want more! This beer is a journey to the fine Belgian pubs of Europe with a fruity taste that makes you want to go on an a European beer adventure, Well soothe your yearn for quality with a short trip across the Tasman and enjoy this fine New Zealand beer. Score a perfect 10.

MOA Five Hop

One of my favourite New Zealand brewers has excelled themselves with this winter ale. It is rich in flavour from the combined hops. The nose of the beer is from the Nelson Hops with an oak finish that is almost honeyed and rich. More like a European smooth and creamy ale but I cannot bring my self to drink it warm. 6.1 % with medium bitterness (35 BTU) which means that it is full of character hoppy tones that speak volumes if the quality. Score 10 out of 10.
